The Juniper Networks QFX10000-60S-6Q is a high-density line card designed for the QFX10000 series modular switches, offering a versatile mix of 1/10GbE and 40/100GbE ports. It's suitable for data centre spine and core deployments, supporting scalable architectures like IP fabrics and EVPN-VXLAN overlays.
Key Specifications
QSFP+ Ports: 4 ports supporting 40GbE speeds.
QSFP28 Ports: 2 dual-speed ports (ports 60 and 64) supporting either 40GbE or 100GbE speeds. When configured for 100GbE, adjacent ports (61/62 for port 60 and 63/65 for port 64) are disabled.
Port Channelisation: Supports converting a 40GbE port into four independent 10GbE ports using breakout cables.
Junos OS Support: Supported on Junos OS Release 17.1R1 and later. Note that Junos OS Release 17.1R1 does not support 1GbE on the 10GbE SFP+ ports; this support is available in Junos OS Release 17.2R1 and later.
The QFX10000-60S-6Q line card is compatible with both the QFX10008 (8-slot, 13U chassis) and QFX10016 (16-slot, 21U chassis) modular switches. These chassis can accommodate any combination of QFX10000 line cards, including the QFX10000-36Q, QFX10000-30C, QFX10000-30C-M, and QFX10K-12C-DWDM. A fully configured QFX10016 chassis can support up to 480 100GbE ports, delivering up to 7.2 Tbps (full duplex) per slot.
High Availability: Supports non-stop routing (NSR), non-stop bridging (NSB), and graceful Routing Engine switchover (GRES) for seamless failover.
Virtual Output Queue (VOQ): Employs a VOQ-based architecture to prevent head-of-line blocking, ensuring efficient packet forwarding in large-scale deployments.
Programmability and Automation: Offers programmability through APIs and supports automation tools like Python, Chef, Puppet, and Ansible.
Scalability: Designed to scale with up to 96 Tbps Layer 2 and Layer 3 performance, with future scalability to over 200 Tbps.
